HOW TO YANGDO
yangdo (양도) is the korean term for "transfer". it operates in a similar way to wtb/wts, but has its own rules and customs. there are multiple places to find goods, but the most prevelant is twitter.you can find goods to buy through searching the group / the member name with 양도 added onto the end. there is a list of useful phrases, pricing information and more specific search tags here.there is a more detailed walkthrough of how a yangdo conversation may go heremost koreans will not accept any payment other than bank transfer. if you do not have a korean bank, you will be charged heavily for making an international transaction. instead, utilise services like WISE, which allow you to send money abroad at low costs. do not use paypal!!! sellers will take advantage of this to overcharge you.it's really important to note that koreans cannot ship overseas without using their passports, so most will not sell overseas. to subvert this, you can use a warehouse service called a proxy (sometimes referred to as a kaddy). you can find more information on kaddys here

korean addresses (kaddys) are proxy services that allow you to make purchases and have them sent to you. when you purchase an item, you send it to the warehouse, and then the warehouse will foward it to you. since covid-19, kaddys have become more expensive, but prices seem to be lowering consistently.
there is a lot of different kaddy services, but some of the most popular are:kfriday
delivered korea
paysable
korgousome of these sites also allow purchases from bunjang (korean ebay).
there are a few stages to using a kaddy: ordering, storage, consolidation and then mailing to you in your home country.ordering refers to you placing an order. most will require you to then fill out a form with your kaddy, letting them know what will be arriving and the tracking number. this allows them to keep all of your orders together.once your order(s) arrive, you will then need to store them in your warehouse. if you are only ordering one item, this doesn't apply. some offer free storage for a set amount of days (kfriday gives 30 days free) before charging per package per day.when all of your items have arrived, you will consolidate your package. this helps you to save on shipping costs, as they combine all your packages into one box and send that to you. there is a charge to pay for consolidation.you do have to pay for shipping to your home country, and will also be responsible for any customs - so please be responsible with your purchases!
